College of Life Science in Sichuan Agricultural University has a long, eventful and prosperous history, founded in 1956, formly known as the Biology Department in Sichuan Agricultural College. In the ensuing nearly 60 years, considerable progress has been made in scientific research, discipline construction and talent cultivation，College of Life Science, was formally established in March, 2014.
College of Life Science is set up with 4 departments and 1 research laboratory: Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Department of Zoology, Department of Botany, Department of Bioengineering and Isotope Research Laboratory, which has now 98 faculties and staffs, including 40 professors and associate professors, respectively. The College awards doctoral/master’s degrees to Botany, Zoology, Biophysics, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and also has Biological Science, Biotechnology and Bioengineering 3 undergraduate majors.
College of Life Science has about 1613 undergraduates and 155 graduates in school. We aim to provide the finest education and research training to students, both at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Further improvement had been made on the research and teaching conditions of College of Life Science. Elite students from all of the country study in good academic atmosphere of College of Life Science and has gained excellent achievement. Over the past three years, more than 40 students have gone abroad for further study.
With education idea of all-round development, the College of Life Science will continue to improve the educational quality, strength scientific research and international communication, aiming to build a better platform for students!
